Born and raised in El Paso, Texas my name is Monica and I am currently a weekend jock live on Friday's from 9pm to 2am and Sunday's from 6pm to 12am. A graduate of Loretto Academy High School and a Senior at the University of Texas at El Paso. My major is in Public Relations with a minor in Marketing. The last 3 years, working for Power 102 has all been a learning experience for me. If I may pass on advice to all my future radio personality's: never stop learning. Finish your schooling all the way to your Masters. Since I have been in this industry I have learned that no matter what you do in your life make sure that you always have a back up plan. Everything in your life can be taken away from you but the one thing that nobody can ever take away is your education. I am a big believer that things always happen for a reason, so keep your head up and always SMILE! :) Remember that all the trials and tribulations that you may face are there just to make you a stronger person. I appreciate all the support that I have received and will continue to receive throughout the years. I want to thank the listeners for backing me up in all my endeavors and take this time to say that it was an honor to be voted runner up in What's Up's Best of the Best 2008 for Sexiest Radio Voice....THANK YOU! How I got my start: I became interested in radio about 6 years ago when I got the opportunity to meet some of the radio personalities that worked at Power like Mike Dee, Bobby Ramos, Patti Diaz, Boy Loco, Slomotion, and the intern at the time Intern Fresco. I began to offer my services for free to help them with anything that they needed in other words I was the Interns Intern. As weird as it sounds I enjoyed the grunt work because it gave me the opportunity to get to know the personalities and the station better. I FELL IN LOVE.... with radio. This has been the greatest experience and time of my life thus far. I have learned so much in the two years that I have been here that I still can't get enough and I learn more EVERYDAY!! I was blessed with the opportunity to be here and couldn't be more grateful. Hard work, and dedication can get you anything you dream, as of March 2008 I will be starting my 3rd year at the radio station.
