Street Pulse is designed to promote local El Paso/Las Cruces Area Hip-Hop, Pop, R&B and Dance Music. Through the Street Pulse program, Power 102.1 is currently accepting music from local artists. Everyone has equal chance to participate granted the main criteria outlined below is met.
To participate in the Street Pulse program, artists must submit their song using the official submission form. Power 102.1 cannot accept music directly via email, physical drop off, or any other method of delivery. Song must be in MP3 format and all required fields on the submission form must be completed to submit.
Artist must originally be from or currently reside in the greater El Paso, Texas/Las Cruces, New Mexico area. Song must be clean of explicit language and content. Song must be no longer than 5 minutes and 30 seconds in length and of broadcast quality (determined by Power 102.1 staff). Song must not contain unlicensed samples. Any music that appears to use identifiable sampling will be rejected. If Power 102.1 is alerted to music that has already been posted to the program that uses unlicensed samples, it will be immediately removed.
In addition, Power 102.1 reserves the right to reject or remove any music for any reason at any time.
DISPLAY AND VOTING
Songs will be considered in the order that they are received. When approved, songs will be posted to the Street Pulse page and the artist will be notified by email. A delay from the time of submission to the time of posting should be expected.
The main Street Pulse page will display 18 songs at a time; only 1 per artist. The voting tool allows visitors to vote for their favorite of the week. Voting is limited to one time per day per IP address. The most voted song at the end of the week will be played on Power 102.1 that Sunday night between 7:00pm and 7:30pm. Votes will be tallied and the voting tool reset every Friday.
Every few weeks, the Street Pulse page will be refreshed with new artists/songs. Songs that receive the least amount of votes each week will be replaced faster than the songs receiving the greater amount of votes. Once a song has reached the top spot a total of 4 times, it will be retired (removed from the program). Once an artist's song is dropped from the program, the artist is free to submit a new song for consideration.
The Street Pulse program is not a station contest; there is no prize awarded. There is no value for website display of song or airplay of the top 5 weekly songs. The top 5 weekly songs is solely decided by listener votes via this website. Power 102.1 staff cannot determine or influence the weekly songs to be played on-air.
By submitting music to Street Pulse, you agree to these rules and allow Power 102.1 to display your likeness and music at KPRR.com, as well as play your song on-air. Power 102.1 will not share music or info that is submitted to the program.
Power 102.1 reserves the right to amend these rules at any time without notice.
